It invests in common stocks, equity, commodities linked/structured notes and cash equivalents, and preferred stocks of companies operating primarily in oil and gas, chemicals, capital markets, and metals and mining industries. Deutsche Investment Management Americas, Inc. serves as an investment manager to the fund. The fund, formerly known as Scudder Global Commodities Stock Fund, Inc. was formed in 2004. It changed its name to DWS Global Commodities Stock Fund, Inc. in February 2006. The fund is based in Baltimore, Maryland.

DWS Global Commodities Stock Fund, Inc. Announces Election to Opt into Maryland Control Share Acquisition Act (Business Wire)
NEW YORK----The Board of Directors of DWS Global Commodities Stock Fund announced today that in order to enhance its ability to protect the interests of stockholders, the Fund has opted into the Maryland Control Share Acquisition Act , which generally provides that âcontrol sharesâ of a corporation acquired in a âcontrol share acquisitionâ shall have no voting rights except to the extent approved by a vote of two-thirds of the voting shares entitled to be cast on the matter.
